Forecast Check is a browser extension that shows weather forecasts from several weather models and how accurate each model has been near you.
All of this is kept in your browser’s extension storage. Settings may sync between your own browsers through your browser’s sync, if you have it turned on. We have no server and no copy of this data.
To get the weather, the extension sends requests directly from your browser to:
| Service | What it receives | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Open-Meteo (api.open-meteo.com, previous-runs-api.open-meteo.com) | Coordinates of your place or of the nearest weather station | Forecasts and past forecasts |
| Open-Meteo geocoding (geocoding-api.open-meteo.com) | The text you type in the city search | Finding places |
| NOAA Aviation Weather Center (aviationweather.gov) | An area around your place and the code of the nearest airport station | Weather station observations |
Like any website, these services see your IP address. Their own privacy policies apply: Open-Meteo, NOAA.
Remove the extension, or clear its data in your browser’s extension settings, to delete everything it stored.
